JESSE YOUNG

SENIOR LOAN OFFICER

I was born in the small rural town of Tucumcari, NM on Oct. 30th, 1979, a small blip on the map located right off Interstate 40. At the age of 7 my parents divorced, and my mom headed east with me and my 4 siblings. We relocated our family to Lubbock, TX which is where I spent the remainder of my childhood. At the age of 9 I gave my life to Christ one evening after vacation bible school as my mom and I knelt and prayed together. This was the single greatest decision I had ever made and will ever make in my life.

Growing up was fun, it had its ups and downs for sure, but I am thankful for my upbringing and for the sacrifices my mom made in raising us. I was always provided for and established life-long friendships along the way which I have to this day. I learned how valuable family was and what a blessing they can be in my life. To this day some of my best friends are my 4 siblings and my parents.

Growing older I was unsure as to what I wanted to do with my life. I knew one thing for certain, getting an education was important. This led to the decision to enroll in College and later I graduated from Texas Tech University with my BBA Management/Marketing in May 2003. I was the first person to go to college in my family and the sense of accomplishment felt so good. Upon graduating I knew it was time for me to permanently leave the place I called home for so long. In the Summer of 2003, I packed up and moved to Bedford, TX, taking the first job that would hire me.  The next year/half was extremely difficult. I was overworked, under paid, lonely, missed my family/friends and was on the brink of moving back to Lubbock. I had even gone as far as to quit my job with just enough money saved to last me 2 weeks. I had been praying diligently for 2 specific things to happen in my life. #1- I wanted to meet the wife God had planned for me. #2- I wanted to find the career/profession that I could be in for a long time and that I felt meaning in doing. Then one Saturday afternoon as I sat unemployed at a McDonald’s visiting with my mom who was in town, I received a call from a guy named Paul. He had found my resume’ online and wanted to interview me for a sales position in the Mortgage Industry that Monday. The job posting seemed like every other job posting I had seen up until this point, which made me reluctant to go at first. At this point in my life I didn’t even know what a “Mortgage” was.

The interview ended up going great that Monday morning, Paul seemed genuine and the company atmosphere was energetic, professional, and seemed like a great place to work. On December 1st, 2004 I was hired as a Mortgage Loan Officer. On my first day I was informed that I would be part of a “team” and we had our first team meeting at 9am. Sitting in the conference room with about 15 other work colleagues in-walked the most beautiful face I had ever seen. Her name was Mandy Martin. At this moment little did I know, God was answering those 2 specific prayers that I had been praying for. Mandy had started working for this company exactly 1 year earlier to the day, December 1st, 2003. We eventually began dating and within 9 months were married on January 21st, 2006.

Fast forward to today. Mandy and I have been happily married for over 17 years and have been blessed to have 8 kids, 5 girls and 3 boys, which include a set of identical twin girls. Our youngest daughter McKenzie is our “little miracle”, we almost lost her but had a life-saving heart transplant at only 7 weeks of age. She is now 8 years old and loves to sing and dance. We have experienced so much in our marriage but have learned to embrace the peaks and valleys of life together and to trust in the Lord. At the same time, I have enjoyed an unbelievable career in the mortgage business for over 16 years and absolutely LOVE what I do. I have experienced the lows that we saw during the “housing crash” of 2008 as well as the highs of the “refinance booms” which have taken place periodically over the years. When structuring a loan, I have never looked at my job as just another “transaction”, but a job that is meaningful in helping others and more relational as I get to know my clients and their needs on a personal level. This formula has proven successful in allowing my business to grow by being straight referral and word-of-mouth.  Over the years I have been blessed to help thousands of families experience the “American Dream” of homeownership and find so much fulfillment in helping others with one of the most important decisions they will make for themselves and their families.

I look forward to helping you!
